Go West!

Status: in pre-production

The 1970s saw many Jewish emigrants leave the Soviet Union. Their route took them, via Vienna to either Israel or the United States. Some remained in the west, others returned home disappointed.

1976. Vadim Myshkin and his wife Natalia also dream of leaving the Soviet Union and emigrating to the USA. But their plans conflict with the interests of the government. If they were Jewish, they could leave the country legally. To get around this obstacle, they fake a divorce and subsequent marriages with Jewish neighbors. Their plan seems to work at first.
